“External Links” mambot

I have outlined a mambot which adds the text “target=_blank” to the external links in a content. Thus, all the links pointing to external sites will be opened in a new window.

Unfortunately, as I know, content doesn’t pass through mambots when exported as rss feed (at least in the case of the standard com_rss component).

Hi There!
This mambot is working fine in Internet explorer. In Firefox this mambot is not working! Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how i can fix this?

Most likely, it is because “target” attribute is deprecated. So, Firefox can treat such links in different ways (details - http://www.trilithium.com/johan/2005/03/target-blank/).

Would be also not difficult, but useful to mark all external links as nofollow-links if needed. I didn’t try it yet, but maybe it is an idea for an additional parameter in the backend configuration.
