One more mambot for you! The mambot josSmartyPants is based on PHP SmartyPants Typographer. Typographer is an extension to SmartyPants adding support for different quotation marks as well as for converting normal spaces to unbreakable spaces and thus preventing inappropriate line breaks. SmartyPants can perform the following transformations:

• Straight quotes ( ” and ‘ ) into “curly” quote HTML entities
• Backticks-style quotes (“like this”) into “curly” quote HTML entities
• Dashes (“–” and “—”) into en- and em-dash entities
• Three consecutive dots (“…”) into an ellipsis entity

SmartyPants does not modify characters within <pre>, <code>, <kbd>, or <script> tag blocks. Typically, these tags are used to display text where smart quotes and other “smart punctuation” would not be appropriate, such as source code or example markup.

It is recommended to make a mambot the last in the list of calls of mambots of a content group so that it doesn’t change the information in constructions of a kind {mosimage ...}, etc.
