I suggest testing version 2.0beta of a pda-mambot and pda-subdomain-mambot (for previous version see “PDA-version of Joomla’s site” and “The PDA-version of a site as a subdomain“).
Capabilities:
1. To appoint for the pda-version different “main” page (homepage).
2. Set up display of a template:
- There are 6 positions in template
- It is possible to change names of positions from mambot settings
- To output pathway or not (or to don’t output only on “main” page)
- To call mosMainbody on the “main” page or not (i.e. to output the “main” page completely or to keep modules only)
3. A capability to transform page to the utf-8 encoding (for it the library iconv is necessary).
4. Completely set up head-part of the page:
- Joomla’s standard or simplified head block
- A capability to embed styles in the page instead of using separate file
- Set up of xml-head and doctype-head
5. A choice of content-type heading: text/html or text/xhtml.
How to install:
1. Install a pda-template-2.0
2. Install and publish (activate) pda-bot-2.0 or pda-subdomain-bot-2.0 (or both) depending on your needs.
3. Tune up mambot settings (optional).
For pda-subdomain-bot-2.0 don’t forget to apply Cache hack.

I am using Joomla 1.0.13, and tried to install pdabot 2.0 and pdabot 2.1.0 both.and templates for both also. but i got message that “invalid XML setup file”.
Then i have extracted the zip file and uploaded the folders i respective folders i mean mambots and templates. i got them in position very fine in my joomla admin.
I got the pages created and i have assigned the PDA template but when i try to access the page it give me message:
Inconsistency between versions of pda-mambot and pda-template
Can you please help me out.

thewebnsoft:
1. You don’t need to assign any page to PDA template.
2. Seems, it is because of you go to that page directly and not through PDA mambot.

“going through PDA Mambot”,
i am new to joomla, can you explain me.. this step by step..

thewebnsoft:
PDA Mambot starts to work when you visit site from pda device. “Start to work” means that it changes template to pda-template and prepares some data for pda-template. Pda-template will work normally ONLY if this “some data” are prepared.
If you assign some page to pda-template, then this template are loaded directly (without necessary data preparation) and you see an error “Inconsistency between versions of pda-mambot and pda-template”.

Wayne:
What the link do you set for new homepage?
E.g., I set it as “index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=6″ and see “Joomla! License Guidelines” as a homepage on emulator.

Hi guys,
Reading this thread with great interest.
I am looking for the best solution to our mobile content site. We have an excellent packaging technology that generates high end mobile content packages. Books / guides / comics etc. can all be packaged easily into jar files. We are completing an online version to allow end users to create their own content also. I have looked at Joomla before and wanted to explore using a plug-in to make it mobile ready - including device detection. I know all the components are available - but I prefer not to go through the pain of learning to put it all together myself.
Can anyone offer options? Has someone done this before and willing to assist?
