Mobile Joomla
This project and information is deprecated. Please visit Mobile Joomla! project at mobilejoomla.com for the latest and best way of mobilize Joomla! web sites. Thank you very much for your support.
Now I’m planning to work on creation of the package “Mobile Joomla!”. The package includes:
- PDA-mambot 2.2 and PDA-template 2.2 (special edition);
- PDA mambot guide (the full illustrated information on PDA-mambot installation and tuning);
- “PayPal Mobile Checkout” module;
- “Google AdSense Mobile” module;
- List of mobile ads services (and how to embed them in joomla-powered site).
The package will cost about $2.00. If you are interested in it, write me in comments or by e-mail.

First of all Congratulations on such a Great piece of software.
Hi, I’m currently migrating a SHTML site over to Joomla! 1.5 and plan to use your PDA package.
Will the Mobile Joomla! package be compatible with Joomla! 1.5? In that case I’ll sure buy it, the PayPal and Adsense modules are really useful.
For $2 anyone that cares for their site will surely invest in it, it’s GREAT value for the money.
If more developers decided to go the route of small charges you’ve chosen, I think it’ll work better than donations. Watch out, you just may be a trend setter!
Keep up the good work!
Be Well!

I plan to release PDA-mambot for Joomla!1.5 as soon as the stable version of Joomla!1.5 will be released. Though, probably, preliminary version will be included in the package Mobile Joomla!.

Hi all,
I have a question, regarding the pda template. In the package is a template_thumbnail.png and that is exactly what I am looking for. But i don’t have a main menu when i surf to the site. On my mobile phone i get a perfect site with all the news, but i’m interested in the menu like displayed in the tumnail.
Greetz and keep up the good work.

Ronny:
It’s very simple: make a copy of mainmenu module and publish it in ‘header’ position.

Hi,
Great plugin, thanks for the good work. It took me a while to figure out two things:
1) you need to place the plugin directly under the main Joomla \templates directory.
2) to make the main menu show, copy the module Main menu and publish the Copy of Main Menu module in the location ‘header’, as described by Physicist above.
Kind regards.

Yes, very simple, but i used an other option. If you just copy the module, all the menu items will appear.
I made a copy in the menu manager, so you can turn off the items who are not useful to the mobile site.
This menu appears also in the module section and than publish it in the “header” position.
Works perfect !

Hi, we’re very interested in the upcoming Mobile Joomla, and glad to see it will work with Joomla 1.5 (though we’re using 1.0.12, we’re going to migrate as soon as possible). We’re already using your PDA template and bot and it has really improved our viewership (since we specifically focus on mobile devices). Thanks!

You could certainly charge more than $2 for this. The PDA mambot is great and the 1.5 version works well. I am really interested in the 1.5 native version of AdSense Mobile. Thank you for all of your hard work! -TM
