1. Introduction
The quantity of mobile devices in the world greatly outnumber quantity of desktops in houses and offices, therefore creation of sites convenient for users of mobile devices is not a rarity. And whether your Joomla-site is designed for viewing by means of mobile devices? If no, it is easy to correct it with the pda-mambot.

As soon as I enabled SEO with Artio CZ, the PDA version of the website stopped functioning! If I disable SEO, everything works out fine!
Any ideas?

Some additional information regarding the problem. I got the following error in the PHP error log:
[17-Nov-2007 12:17:42] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in E:\site\templates\pda\index.php on line 178
Line 178 is the PHP closing bracket.

It is really strange. Until now I cannot find the cause for such a behavior.
Please, send me used version of Artio SEO.
November 26th, 2007 at 6:26 am
The Artio version used is the latest (2.2.2) in a Joomla 1.0.13 environment.I removed .htaccess & disabled SEO, trying to make it work.
Any idea on the PHP error recorded?

I'll experiment on ArtioSEF just a little later. Try to change order of mambots 'PDA-mambot' and 'ARTIO JoomSEF MetaBot' so that 'PDA-mambot' places before 'ARTIO JoomSEF MetaBot', maybe it solves the problem.
It looks like /templates/pda/index.php doesn't uploaded correctly (perhaps it corrupted or truncated).
November 26th, 2007 at 2:16 pm
I have already placed the PDA Mambot before Artio, with the effects described. I also tried the same config in three different demo internal sites.
The template was deleted and re-copied, with the same errors.

I have just installed pda-template, pda-mambot and joomsef on fresh Joomla1.0.13. All works normally.

It tooks me two days to read and try to reconfigure, instal, reinstal mooving the files from mambo folder to the new domain and still not yet solvation of the problem with showing the pda site.

You cannot use PDA-mambot with Mambo. The reason is very simple: Mambo has no event "onStart". If you wish to try to add this event in Mambo, you need to add in file /index.php next lines
$mambothandler=&mosMambotHandler::getInstance(); $mambothandler->loadBotGroup('system'); $mambothandler->trigger('onStart');before lines
Good luck!

I am a newbiw with joomla and am confused at what should be here:
Extended Settings:
PDA Homepage. Set this page as a homepage (e.g. index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=12&itemid=1)
December 13th, 2007 at 2:46 am
Paul:
This option allow you to set certain page as a home page for mobile version. If this field is empty, mobile homepage is normal homepage (usually index.php?option=com_frontpage&itemid=1). You can set here sef-url too (like content/view/77/7/).

I am able to get the index page and search module to display, but can not get the main menu (left side) to appear. I did make a copy and tried to position the menu on "top" "bottom" and "header" all with negative results. I am using the default template with Joomla 1.0.13.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Ralph:
In mambot parameters find names of positions: parameters "1st module position above pathway" etc. (search module is displayed in one of them). Appoint one of these positions to the Menu module.

Physicist,
Excellent module and does what it says.
The question I have is concerned with the subdomain option / setup.
The site is www.tharna.co.uk so I have set up a subdomain of wap.tharna.co.uk I was hoping I would be still able to view the website in full at the www. address but now when I access either site, I get the same PDA version. Is this correct, or have I missed something?
January 10th, 2008 at 6:19 am
Terl:
This is not correct, of course.
What version of plugin do you use? What browsers do you test it with?

I have tried both PDA mambot and the Mobile Joomal, and with both I do not get the PDA template when browsing from a phone or emulator - it just shows the normal Joomla template. The bot is published and the templates are in my template directory.

The Mobile Joomla has several methods to determining mobile device. Try to experiment with them.

Hi! Congratulations for this great bot!
But unfortunately I got the same "Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in …\pda\index.php on line 196". I downloaded the template and the mambot from here, twice. Actually I installed both manually, but this error aways appears.
What dou you think it can be?
PS.: I´m using WampServer version 2.0

What is the version of installed pda-mambot?
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:06 am
The bot works well with PDAs and with Internet Explorer. However Firefox gets the following error:
XML Parsing Error: no element found
Location: http://trustedbytoni.com/
Line Number 1, Column 1:
I am using the latest version from your website.
Thanks much!

Hi, I always get this error:
Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator
when i click the apply patch for joomla cache.
Anyone can help me? Just an amateur here. Hahahaha. Thanks!
November 17th, 2008 at 3:00 pm
archngel, I've never dealt with such a problem. But you can manually replace original /includes/joomla.cache.php by distributed with PDA-mambot file.
December 19th, 2008 at 5:44 pm
I downloaded this package and there is no sign of a "pda-template.zip" file anywhere. The file I downloaded was pda15.zip. But the instructions are calling for pda-template.zip.
Can someone tell me where I might find this file?
